Strawberry vine samples were collected from a village in Jurong City, Jiangsu Province, China. The samples were stored after collection and crushed to 3–5 cm sized pieces using a vegetable straw crusher. Fresh chicken manure was taken from a nearby chicken farm and was used as a feedstock.
